American Roads
was published by Landweber/Artists in 1981 in an edition of 100. Each of the twenty photographs was either printed by the artist or under his/her direct supervision. Prints are 16"x20" or matted to that size in museum-board folders and individually protected in museum-quality sleeves. The portfolio is housed in a rugged, custom-designed case lined with BFK-Reeves paper. A finely printed collophon indexes the prints, provides artists' biographical information, and includes two written pieces: a short story by James R. Hugunin, "Records of a Travel-Worn Camera," and an article in which Victor Landweber tells of consulting with Nathan Lyons to create a sequence of the images.
